The big secret to running successful websites is simple – keep up with the trends. You may think that Facebook and Twitter are stupid (I agree), but if you embrace the social networking phenomenon, it can be a very very powerful marketing tool.
Twitter is easy!
If you haven’t heard of it, it’s basically the status update thing from Facebook, in a standalone form. The great thing about Twitter is you don’t need to write an essay. 140 characters and you are done. So basically, you write what you are currently doing / looking at and maybe a link (which gets automatically tinyurled).
Like any website promotion like this, make sure you keep your profile / page updated. At least once a week, make an effort. Check out a few other people’s pages, make a few comments, become part of the community.
Sick of having to manually submit your article to hundreds of article directories to get anywhere? How long does that usually take you? Maybe a few hours to find and submit to 50?
I stumbled upon this article distribution service offered by iSnare a few months ago and wasn’t too sure that it was going to do anything, but for $10, thought there wasn’t much to loose. It’s hard to find a good list of directories with high enough PageRank to make it worth your while. But today, I stumbled upon a free web submission, that just happens to have a list of the top directories/directories, based on Alexa rank and PageRank.
I’ve spent the last 4 hours submitting to these websites. We’ll see the results in the next 6 months

So, some of you may be wondering why I’ve been so lazy and not posted a new article for so long. I could make excuses until the sun goes down… so I will!
I don’t consider myself lazy, but life is often very busy. Currently, I have a girlfriend (a full-time job on it’s own), am working full-time at an SEO Software firm (the name of which, I will not give away), working freelance on another website after work, and trying to maintain my own websites. So, you can see why I haven’t posted on here for a while.
If you were reading carefully, I actually said that I have a full-time job. I know! I think I eluded to it a couple of months ago.
Looking back, I’ve sure made a lot of posts with excuses for neglecting my blog…
Oh well. Maybe see you in another few months!
